distracted
i forget to be astray
the path is moonlit
i search for darkness
i dismiss the sea
my tears are more saline,
suits me better
just before
jill comes tumbling
i stop her
carry her pail
and pour it back to the sea
to return the favour
of the last twenty years
the ungrateful sea
recedes away
its pride is hurt
refused by the sea
i look up
the sky is moonlit
no clouds
there will be no rain tonight
disappointed
i close my torn umbrella
the street lamp
suddenly turns off
all is dark
and there was no moonlight
only electricity
distracted
i again forget to be astray
the moonless sky starts raining
distracted
i once again forget to be astray
and now
everywhere i go
i go astray
the moon remains hidden behind my torn umbrella
i forget to be astray
the path is moonlit
i search for darkness
i dismiss the sea
my tears are more saline,
suits me better
just before
jill comes tumbling
i stop her
carry her pail
and pour it back to the sea
to return the favour
of the last twenty years
the ungrateful sea
recedes away
its pride is hurt
refused by the sea
i look up
the sky is moonlit
no clouds
there will be no rain tonight
disappointed
i close my torn umbrella
the street lamp
suddenly turns off
all is dark
and there was no moonlight
only electricity
distracted
i again forget to be astray
the moonless sky starts raining
distracted
i once again forget to be astray
and now
everywhere i go
i go astray
the moon remains hidden behind my torn umbrella
